The Startech 156L-PRIVACY-SCREEN Monitor Privacy Filter is a specialized solution designed to protect the visual privacy of laptop users with 15.6-inch 16:9 screens. Made of durable plastic, this filter features a universal design suited for bezel-less displays, weighing only 36 grams so it doesn’t add bulk to the device. Its innovative system limits the viewing angle to 60 degrees (±30 degrees from center), darkening the screen for side viewers and protecting confidential information from prying eyes. It also includes a reversible finish allowing you to choose between a matte anti-glare side—ideal for bright environments with anti-fingerprint and scratch-resistant properties—and a high-gloss side that preserves the screen’s original color vibrancy and contrast, adapting easily to different lighting conditions. This filter reduces light transmittance to 57.5%, maintaining optimal brightness without sacrificing privacy. Another key feature is its ability to block up to 51% of blue light in the 380-480 nm range, helping reduce eye strain and improving comfort during long screen use, alleviating symptoms like headaches and dry eyes. Installation is simple and practical, offering two methods: transparent adhesive strips that leave no residue, or side mounting tabs. A strategic cutout in one corner allows quick removal to securely share content or switch between matte and glossy finishes without hassle. In short, this Startech laptop privacy filter combines functionality, visual protection, and ergonomics in an adaptable design, making it an effective tool for safeguarding sensitive information in work or public settings.
