The coronavirus pandemic has sent internet sales soaring since it broke out in Europe in March. Since then, shoppers’ consumption habits have changed, keeping their preference for online shopping rather than physical shopping.
This year, it is expected that most Black Friday sales will be online. We won’t see the large queues of people at the shop doors trying to get themselves the best discounts. In addition, many people have spent some months watching what they spend and they will dedicate this day to getting some Christmas shopping done, while taking advantage of store discounts.
If you have an ecommerce, this year will be your year; you might even be able to sell as much in one day as in a few months put together. But, in order to do this, your business must be prepared, so now is the time to get moving:
- Schedule the newsletters: The best option is to start to warm things up with your database a few weeks beforehand. Don’t leave everything until the day itself. You should remind people you exist, so they remember you on the day. Bear in mind that, on the day, they will be bombarded with newsletters and yours might just get buried among them.
- Create a social media strategy: As with the newsletter, having what you are going to do planned in advance will free you from a lot of headaches. Design your banners, posts and images now, so that you can spend your time on the 27th watching the orders come in.
- Find your buyer persona: This will be vital if you want to do advertising. Knowing what audience you are targeting will help you to filter when it comes to creating a campaign. Bear in mind that competition will be high over these few days and advertising prices will also increase.
- Study the winning products: Spend a few minutes analysing the products that you have sold the most of in your business in recent months or those that give you a higher profit margin, as these are the products that should stand out when a customer reaches your business.
- Don’t forget Cyber Monday!: Although we have already said that this Black Friday will be practically all online, don’t forget that buyers will also be looking for online discounts on Monday 30th, so don’t forget about this day.
This year at BigBuy we are committed to the democratisation of Black Friday for sellers. It is no longer just large marketplaces that sell their products but, thanks to our help, thousands of sellers throughout Europe will be able to reach shoppers without making huge investments. Thanks to dropshipping, this Black Friday the profits will be for everyone.
