“The effective integration of ESG criteria in BigBuy’s strategy is crucial. The scope of the actions we develop and promote at BigBuy in relation to sustainability is essential for a variety of reasons, highlighting the action with regard to the environment and fight against climate change in addition to complying with legal requirements. On the other hand, it is a point of attraction for investors and helps to encourage loyalty among our customers. Our focus in the coming years is to continue prioritising people and collaborating with our entire supply chain, to build a global sustainability system which contributes to the greater well-being of society and the environment in general.”

Progress of our ESG policies between 2022 and 2023.
The Sustainability Report 2023 demonstrates the positive progress made in some key indicators compared to the 2022 financial year. Progress that highlights BigBuy’s leadership in the area of sustainability in the ecommerce sector.
“Our ESG score has increased by 75%, moving from 3.2 to 5.6 and has exceeded the average score achieved in our sector (5.1)”.
Thanks to the series of actions launched in 2023, the independent tool, the Marsh ‘ESG Risk Rating’ which measures organisations’ performance in environmental, social and governance aspects, has awarded us a score of 5.6 for our ESG impact (75% more than in 2023) in BigBuy’s latest sustainability report. From all of the dimensions, BigBuy stands out extremely positively in the social aspect, with a score of 7.4.
In terms of energy consumption, we have implemented a reduction plan, including changing lighting for LEDs and the installation of a photovoltaic system. This plan has enabled the total electricity consumption to be reduced by 10%, from 275 MWh in 2022 to 249 MWh in 2023.
Additionally, in 2023, we have improved the efficiency of our logistics process, reducing unnecessary stock and optimising transfers, which has reduced our carbon footprint.
The implementation of specific filters for refurbished products and the programming of inclusive features in the search tool has improved the customer experience and boosted the sale of more sustainable products.
In the spheres of the Circular Economy and Waste Management, in 2023, improvements have been made to reduce the use of plastics, and a circular economy policy has been drawn up to encourage the increase in use life, refurbishment, modularity and disassembly of own products.
